We have finalized pricing and assortment for CheeseShare. Since we are down to one cheese vendor our options are more limited than last year. We’ve reduced the amount of butter and cream cheese as requested by many of our members. This is a great product to add to your veggies, fruit and meats!
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) has recently become concerned about unfair labor practices on small family farms. I was one of the lucky ones who was paid a visit. There is an article in today’s Pioneer Press regarding the Minnesota Statewide Health Initiative Program and Washington County’s use of funds to promore more healthful eating. In particular the article discusses joining a CSA farm and mentions Fresh Earth Farms as one of the few farms located in Washington County. There will be another meeting on March 15th in Woodbury where we will be on the panel discussing CSA farming. The recruiting season is in full force. I was reminded of the theme to the 1960’s television comedy “Green Acres” the other day as I was perusing the 2011 edition of the Land Stewardship CSA Farm Directory. The CSA Farm Directory is an annual listing of CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farms that serve the Twin Cities market. It is put together by Land Stewardship Project and funded
